Ghana vs Uruguay - Tiebreaker

Ghana vs Uruguay 2022 Match Review

At 6:00 PM in the Al Janoub stadium, a total of 43,443 people sat down to watch the 2022 Ghana vs Uruguay match. Twelve years ago, in the African world cup of 2010, Ghana and Uruguay played for a tie. As expected, in twelve years, a lot has changed, including the team lineups. The match lasted 106 minutes in total excluding the half-break. 8 additional minutes were provided before half-break and 8 minutes were provided at the end.

It was an exciting and tough battle. During the first half, the Uruguayan team managed to score two goals, and earned a penalty kick (which missed). Despite this, the Ghana team continued with fierce attacks in hopes of evening the score. Their quick moves amazed the stadium.

First Goal by Giorgian de Arrascaeta

Second Goal also by Giorgian de Arrascaeta

After the first half, both teams got ready for the second half, and switched sides. The Ghana team tried to score some goals, while the Uruguay team tried to keep the ball away from them. In the end, no goals were scored for the second half. In total, the Ghana and Uruguay team both took five substitutions. Yellow cards were assigned to Luis Suárez and Sebastián Coates of Uruguay and Kamaldeen Sulemana of Ghana.

Despite winning the match, Uruguay was not allowed to continue, which was a major blow for them. Although, in the spirit of sportsmanship, it was an impressive match, and the skill of both teams cannot be denied.

Forces

Forces Introduction Forces can be classified as a push or pull acting on an object. Everything from opening a drawer to the Earth's gravitational pull is known as a force. Can you think of other examples? Forces have the capacity to change either the state of motion or the state of mass in the object which it applies to.  You can also classify forces into two types: contact and non-contact force. However, it depends on if the forces are caused by contact or without it. They are known as contact and non-contact forces, respectively. To understand more clearly, you can refer to this example: A coin is falling from a building. Here, you will find two examples of forces. Can you find out what they are? The first force is the gravitational force, which does not touch the coin, yet it still applies a force onto it in a downwards motion. The second is the frictional force: in this case, it does have contact with the coin: air resistance is formed due to friction, meaning the air mol...

Line Following Robotics

Line Following @ DPS Monarch Tech Fest Introduction Since 2020, DPS Monarch School (Doha, Qatar), has held a Tech Fest, celebrating today’s technological advancements through various competitions and events. In the years 2023 – 2024, as well as the 2024 – 2025, I have been lucky to be selected for this gathering, in the line following robot event. Before I go on with the event itself, I would like to talk about our line following robot, and line following in general. Year 1 June 2023 was when I was first introduced to the world of line following. When I first received the opportunity to participate, I had thought, ‘How hard can it be?’ And later, after some block coding with the mBot2 , along with my other 3 team members, I found out that I was right. Using a quad RGB sensor that turned the robot whenever the line got to the edge proved to be a robust method. Hence, we had a robot that could follow a line… but the story wasn’t over. Humans are always obsessed with mak...

Oil Spills

Oil Spills – are they really a problem? In this report, we detail oil spills, with their causes, effects and required management. However, to properly understand oil spills as a disaster, one must first understand what a disaster means, and the process of disaster management. Hence, our objectives are to: Introduce, define, describe and classify disasters. Introduce disaster management and its key components. Introduce oil spills as a disaster and describe them in detail. Provide a case study on a major oil spill. Explain the disaster management process of oil spills. Disasters What is a Disaster? A disaster is a serious problem occurring over time that causes widespread human, material, economic or environmental loss which exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources. In simpler words, any problem that causes major loss to a community, which that community cannot fix on their own, is known as a disaster. Disasters lead to a...
